When McNairy and Keds team up, nothing but good things happen. So when their latest collaboration became available, I had to try them out for myself. And I must admit that they are better than expected.
I just got word that two of my favorite brands, Sperry Top-Siders and Penfield, have teamed up to make 4 different styles of shoes this fall. A great alternative to the classic brown top-siders that you should already have in your closet. Stay tuned.
My good friend Dalyn at Brohammas just launched a new site showcasing his collection of modern vintage illustrations. Dalyn Art will be updated weekly so check it out and come back often. And be sure to check out his interviews and sketches of some of your favorite bloggers.
Back in '09 I figured out how to fold the tongue on my LL Bean Rubber Mocs as seen in the The Official Preppy Handbook. However, I noticed a few months ago that the tongue was beginning to unfold. And since I wear my mocs all year around (rain or shine), I decided to refold the tongue and document the process (DIY style).
I had the privilege of spending a few days testing some crepe sole shoes and I can't say enough good things about how comfortable they are. Here's a round up of a few options that are currently on the market.
July 8, 2011 marked the end of an era for the space shuttle program and as major fan all space programs, I'm sad that this one is coming to an end because it truly inspired my generation to literally reach for the stars. Space travel was a major thing for me as a kid. I still remember class being interrupted to watch space shuttle launches and it seems as though that impact still has reminents in my life (if you ask my son right now what he wants to be when he grows up he will proudly proclaim, "Astronaut" ). However, this is all bittersweet because I am excited about what lies ahead in the future for NASA and the technological advances that they inspire. Case in point: we already saw the Iphone go 10,000 ft above the earth but now we get to see the phone really spread its wings on the International Space Station as its being used to conduct experiments for NASA's final space shuttle mission.
A few weeks ago, Ryan posted a great commerical about the new BMW M Series and it got me thinking about the brillant marketing campaign they launched in 2001 called The Hire. Enlisting some of Hollywood's biggest actors and directors, BMW rolled out a series of short films that still holds up 10 years later. If you never seen these before, then you are in for a treat.
Since this summer is all about getting in shape, I decided to start rowing again. Thanks to Faith and Gordon Pizor at WYRA, I learned how to rowing during my first year of college and fell in love with it ever since. Here are few pics of the boathouse that I took with my iPhone the other day.
