First Strip: Nov 18, 1985

  1. We have several C&H books in our collection...I love them! I also adore Mutts!

  2. C&H - nicely done. I always enjoyed their strip...

  3. Always loved Calvin & Hobbes, even if I could never figure out how to pronounce it. I always pronounced it "H-oh-bbes" but every so often would hear someone call him "Hobb-es"

  4. When talking about photosynthesis I always refer to the Calvin and Hobbes cycle...

:-) Happy 4th! I am spinning Vinyl ALL day!

  5. I have the entire collection in a box somewhere, definitely my all time favorite strip. For those that don't know Calvin is named for John Calvin, the Protestant reformationist and Hobbes, for Thomas Hobbes the influential philosopher and author of Leviathan.
