Levi's 511 Corduroy Shorts

After participating in Trip's survey about shorts length, I came to the conclusion that it's probably time to start updating my shorts collection. And since corduroy shorts seems to be in this season, I decided to take a look at Levi's 511 Corduroy Shorts that are currently at Urban Outfitters.

No worries. I'm just throwing it out there to see what people think.
    Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Corduroy shorts...counter-intuitive ...why use a fairly heavy fall/winter fabric in a warm weather garment.....do they think we like having sweaty crotch or what??
I would certainly pass on these.

  4. I was thinking the same thing when I saw them on LL Bean Signature.

  5. I remember in 80's Ocean Pacific had a line of cord shorts and I thought they were dumb even then.

  6. I'm less concerned with the cords than I am with the cut. Of course this is mostly a personal issue as those of us who have tree trunk legs should avoid tight and long shorts at all costs... unless they are football pants and only then if you are an actual football player and again, only id said player is actually playing football. I find a slight flair in the legs of shorts make the thigh look less dominating and slims the leg.

cords? I think I had a pair of those OP shorts with the extra thick cord. I am not responsible for anything that happened in the 80's

  7. I second Main Line, but I must admit I was known to wear those old OP shorts when I was younger. Heck a few years ago we even had an OP party at a buddy house where we all wore those old OP shorts again. Greatfully all of those pictures are now lost.

  8. These are just their 514 corduroy pant cutoff. Why not just wear out a pair of jean cords, and cut them when spring rolls around? Or better yet, cut a pair of jeans. JHORTS!

  9. Narrow wales corduroy used for all year round garments is not the same kind of corduroy as the thick wide wale corduroy used for Winter clothing. I have many corduroy shorts (Ralph Lauren, Quicksilver, LLBean) and they are fantastic and cool especially compared to denim cut-offs some people wear during Summer. There are a lot of college dudes who love to wear corduroy shorts when they go back to school after Summer vacation.

    1. Agree with Martin, I and my Wife wear these corduroy shorts all year around and also our children, most of the Students in College here in Dundalk wear cord shorts all year because of their durability and cool looks...Wide wale ( thick ) in Winter and the smaller Wale for Summer...never wear out .
