Vintage Graflex Camera
When my wife's grandfather found out that I was interested in photography, he gave me his beloved Graflex camera that he used to shoot numerous family portaits as well as a picture that he sold to the Associated Press in the 50s.

4th of July on Martha's Vineyard
Whenever I think of the 4th of July, my mind quickly races back to our summer vacation on Martha's Vineyard a few years ago. We went a little earlier than usual that year and found ourselves celebrating America's independence near the gazebo in Oaks Bluff.

100th Post: Forts and Giggles
Mini Fort
For my 100th post, I was thinking about writing on James Bond inspired Corvus Watch Bands thanks to L.A.S. but ultimately I decided to post on my make-shift fort that I put together for Alex last night. And judging by the smile on his face...it was a good decision.
So far, one of the most commented post on this blog was Our Secret Fort, because it struck a cord with many of you. And at the end of the day, that is what this blog is all about: "striking a cord." Thus, from building fort to figuring out how to fold the tongue on your rubber mocs, Alex Grant will always be a place to swing by and relax. Feel free to bring the whole family.

Our Secret Fort
While checking twitter this morning, I came across Bethdunn2's tweet (from Social Climbers) about helping her children with homework and fort building. This quickly reminded me of the fort I built for Alex last week. Click on the picture to see more pics.
Although the contest is over, We Love You So had a fort building contest to celebrate the opening of Where The Wild Things Are. Click here to look at some great entries and maybe it will inspire the Wild Thing in you to build a fort.

Pumpkin Picking
| From Pumpkin Picking |
The family and I took part today in the great American tradition of picking pumpkins. Coleman's Farm in Middletown, Delaware has been family owned and operated since 1932. They are also enrolled in the Farmland Preservation, which ensures that the land will always be used for farming. We are already looking forward to Christmas Tree hunting at Coleman's.
