Although Andy Spade is no longer at the helm of Jack Spade, I'm glad to see that his influnce still remains at the company. Andy was always a big fan of Barbour so my guess is the collaboration of these two brands was a long time coming. Take a look at Mr. Spade in his well worn Barbour below and read on to see the new Jack Spade x Barbour Collection. On April 9,  PSFK held a Conference in New York that hosted 20 speakers who shared their ideas and thoughts on how to make tomorrow better in the world of art and advertising.  With topics such as Storytelling, Creative Refocus, Changemaking, and Disrupture, the conference appeared to have been a dream come true for those of us with marketing aspirations but with a ticket price of $350, it squarely put attendance out of reach for the masses. Fortunately, PSFK has made Andy Spade & Anthony Speduti of Partner & Spade presentation available for viewing and it is truly inspiring.

Partners & Spade created a compelling story around J. Crew’s men’s line by thinking small: they bought up the space formerly owned by the classic Liquor Store Bar in Tribeca and transformed it into a one-of-a-kind J. Crew Men’s Store, stocked with fine apparel, accoutrements, and even some carefully curate d artwork by NY artists. The store looks, feels, and acts like a true men’s boutique – a genuinely distinct experience created by presenting J. Crew not as a behemoth global brand, but as a company in touch with the local culture of the city, its tastes and its heritage. -PSFK

For the past week now, I've been wearing my LL Bean Signature Belt nonstop and it got me thinking that maybe it's about time to start wearing my own signature on a belt; in the form of a monogram.

While often neglected on many wardrobes and by many blogs, the belt for me can be the ultimate piece that pulls everything together. The wrong belt buckle can tragically send the message that you have no idea what you're doing but the right belt buckle can confidently portray the notion that you constantly swim in the deep end of the style pool.

In the September issues of GQ in 2004, under the heading, "The only thing my father ever game me," Andy Spade answered,

He didn't give me anything, including child support. But he figured it was his job to take me to the one men's store in town, in Scottsdale Arizona, and get me a monogrammed belt. I wear a belt every day.

The reason why the silver belt buckle is marked number one in the accessory section of The Official Preppy Handbook is because it properly and literally holds the outfit together. As the belt stretches across your waist, it can simultaneously stretch across generations and traditions if done correctly. However, don't be afraid to play with these traditions.
